This is the truth, nothing but the truth, and the whole truth, with a waterboard as my witness!

http://www.newamericancentury.org/

http://www.newamericancentury.org/ is NO MORE! The name PNAC synonomous with the rhetoric and reality of Iraq is gone. A morning can't go by on C-span where the term is not used to describe the Republican party as a buzzword that has the stickyness of "liberal" in a negative manner.

I mean lets make no mistake about it!

A search of Google illustrates the number of similar videos. A similar search for PNAC returns similar counts.

Lets review the American values.

America Tortures. Is this a core American value? Is this a Republican value? Lets perform a public opinion poll and ask: American's torture people do you think that this is a good policy? Republicans support torturing people do you think that this is a good policy?

As a registered Republican I guess I will find out in November.

Pre-emptive war. Is this a core American value? Is this a Republican value? Lets perform a public opinion poll and ask: America attacks other nations when it is not a result of self-defense where the other nation attacked first do you think that this is a good policy? Republicans support attacking other nations when it is not a result of self-defense where the other nation attacked first do you think that this is a good policy?

As a registered Republican I guess I will find out in November.

Right to a fair trial:

Is this a core American value? Is this a Republican value? Lets perform a public opinion poll and ask: America believes in secret courts and detaining people without transparency do you think that this is a good policy? Republicans believes in secret courts and detaining people without transparency do you think that this is a good policy?

As a registered Republican I guess I will find out in November.

Americans are fearful:

Is this a core American value? Is this a Republican value? Lets perform a public opinion poll and ask: America believes think that hypothetical fears are a reason to do away with civil rights do you think that this is a good policy? Republicans believes that hypothetical fears are a reason to do away with civil rights do you think that this is a good policy?

As a registered Republican I guess I will find out in November.

Americans believe in limited government, human rights, and the rule of law: Is this a core American value? Is this a Republican value? As a registered Republican I guess I will find out in November. But I see no indication that the American values are any longer the Republican values, it was as if somehow American values got hijacked by somebody or something else, and there is going to be hell to pay for it in November.

And this is sad for a couple of reasons, first some confuse Neoconservatives with racism and bigotry, substitute the alienation of our American policy from our American culture and see a jewish conspiracy; when if fact what we had was poor leadership or the absence of it. Another reason why this is sad is that Republicans who had a firm idea of what Republican principles were (paleocons) have to now watch in disgust as "all republicans" are impugned similarly like "all Jewish people" for an association with this radical segment of the GOP. It is similar to "all Muslims" or "all Catholics" being labeled by behavior that a genuine majority of any populace disagrees with.

The assumption that this website can be taken down, that it is "forgotten" or that it is not in the WayBackMachine of the voters this fall is as naive an assumption as say: We don't need no stinking 350,000 troops or that we will be greeted by flowers even if the Rendon group doesn't airlift them in.

This was bad management, poor leadership. and astonishingly and always apparent naivete that galled the "pragmatists" and the "realists."

Take your pick of American values or Republican ones, and then make a score card.

It is not going to be pretty in October and the GOP that emerges out of the ashes of this historic defeat with not be endorsing non-American values. It will be interesting to see people like Arnold Schwarzenegger in the future and other pragmatists and realists lead in new technolgies, green growth, and an approach driven by; here is the idea "out in the open" and the argument that "this is indeed a better idea and the American way."

To be succesful the new GOP has to reestablish a covenant of trust with America, there is no glib PR campaign that will undo the breach of principles that the GOP allowed in their name as a party.

It is repudiate or be stigmatized by these neoconservative values that are at stake. These are not American values, they must have come from somewhere else, America doesn't want to take ownership of these values, or even the responsibility of them!

I remain a registered Republican by party and by principle. I will not donate another dime however until we start to rebuild as a party, as the minority, when we are forced to on the merit of ideas propose a better set of solutions to the dillemas we face as a nation and a culture.

The above values I listed trump the genitalia wedge issues, trump the traditional I'm gonna wrap myslef in a lapel pin issue, and the rest of hog-shit that has stood as election issues for quite some time. Republicans of all beliefs are in for a sigmoid function or sigmoid curve this fall, it will be brutal and an indelible effect as a consequence of neoconservative agendas associated with the GOP. There is no running from this fact and the only rational option is limiting losses where one can.

With less than 6-months to the election, the "correction" of http://www.newamericancentury.org/ is late, too late, and frankly a long overdue correction.
